  When do you recruit and select candidates?

ANSWER

  Twice a year, in May and October, we start to select candidates for PAS
  Youth Corps. By receiving official letters from us, universities across the
  country first select applicants, and then, PAS makes final selections based   on certain criteria. Also we give a notice on our homepage.

  In which regions do PAS Youth Corps perform their activities?

ANSWER

  PAS Youth Corps are dispatched to the Pacific Asia countries such as   China, Russia, Mongolia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia,   Malaysia, and Taiwan.

  What are the main activities for PAS Youth Corps?

ANSWER

  Education: English, Korean, computer, and Internet
  Public service : construction, cleaning streets, setting up sports facilities,      and repair of school facilities
  Introduction to Korean culture : food, cloths, Taekwondo, Samulnori, folk      songs and games
  Regional study : learning local languages and their customs

  How long is PAS Youth Corps program?

ANSWER

  Generally they spend from three to four weeks during (summer /winter)   vacations.

  Who is responsible for Visa issuance?

ANSWER

  Among countries we dispatch, it is required to get a Visa to work in China,   Mongolia, Russia, Taiwan and Vietnam. Primarily each PAS Youth Corps   member is responsible for visa issuance. Also he/she has to pay for the   expenses. If some problems occur, contact us so that PAS can provide   assistance

  How is the team composed?

ANSWER

  Applicants can choose two countries of their preference then PAS   composes each team by considering the number of applicants, language   ability relevant to the country they want to travel, career and specialty   areas, volunteer experiences, motive, and regional arrangement.

  (when the first choice is not available through consideration of conditions   written above, applicants can join a team from their second choice)

  What is the process of preparation before dispatching to the    field?

ANSWER

  The selected volunteers must participate in training sessions twice   (absentees   could be excluded from the team)
  After first training session, team members should meet regularly to make   master plans for their activities in the field. PAS requires teams to submit a   report of their meeting once a month through email.

  What is the process of recruitment and selection of candidates?

ANSWER

  1. PAS sends official letters to universities (local governments) across
      country for recruitment.
  2. Under certain criteria, universities and local governments choose
      candidates before we receive application documents of selectees.
      Because of budget consideration, not all universities and local
      governments that receive our official letters pick candidates.
  3. PAS decides the final selection by carefully checking over all application
      documents before we inform candidates of their success.
